Almost twenty-one thousand square meters of floor space was occupied at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition center from April fourth to the sixth. Jointly funded by the Victorian as well as the Federal government and held every year, it is Australia’s biggest yearly automotive exhibition. A huge variety of parts, tools, accessories and services will be displayed by more than four hundred local and international companies, as well as business seminars for new comers. Major global firms such as – Castrol, Schumacher Electric, Phillips Automotive, Pro-Kit and Repco Limited were participating with the main corporate sponsor ‘Monroe Shock Absorbers’.

The parts and maintenance sector of the automotive industry is Australia’s primary automotive sector, it includes world class component manufacturers, marketers and service providers. The expo encourages growth through innovation, service expertise and technological advances.

One of the major highlights was the staging of the Australian Auto Aftermarket Excellence Awards, which was held at Melbourne’s famous Crown Palladium. Seven hundred and fifty guests attended awards gala with honoring a number of great individuals, awarded for their outstanding service to the industry and inductions into the Australian Auto Aftermarket Hall of fame. Stuart Charity, Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Auto Aftermarket stated “The AAAA warmly congratulates all award winners along with all of the companies and individuals who made submissions for these highly coveted accolades. There is no doubt that the industry knows no boundaries when it comes to manufacturing and marketing excellence as these awards have clearly recognized.”

Indonesia had certainly made a huge impact with eleven and a half million dollars’ worth of potential transactions were registered by four Indonesian automotive company’s PT Pertamina Lubricants, PT Gajah Tunggal Tbk, PT Rekadaya Multi Adiprima, and PT Astra Otoparts Tbk. Their products were displayed in the Indonesian Pavilion, which was supported by the

Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) in Sydney, the Indonesian Embassy in Canberra and the Indonesian Consulate General in Melbourne. From January to September in 2018, thirty-four million, nine hundred thousand dollars’ worth of Indonesia’s automotive exports to Australia were recorded.

Based in Lonsdale, REDARC received three awards, having won the Excellence in Manufacturing award for the third consecutive time, been named winners at the 2015 and 2017 events. Additional awards include most Innovative New Aftermarket Product Gold Award for the 50 Amp DC-DC In-vehicle battery charger and Excellence in Export Bronze Award. REDARC’s Managing Director, Mr. Anthony Kittel said, “We take great pride in receiving this award for the third consecutive time, it’s testament to the hard work and dedication which is embraced by all departments of REDARC. It is a true reflection of our efforts to achieve excellence in all facets of the organization.”
